Create a TutorMate course for your students
Set up a TutorMate course from scratch — define your learning objectives, add content, configure the mastery engine, and invite your first students.
Open TutorMate and create a new course
From your dashboard, click TutorMate → New Course. Give the course a name, select the subject area, and choose the age band for your students (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, or 9-12). These settings tune the language and difficulty of AI explanations.
Define your learning objectives
Under Learning Objectives, add the concepts or skills you want students to master — for example, "Understand equivalent fractions" or "Write a thesis statement." Each objective becomes a trackable mastery node.
Add course content
Click Add Content and choose your format: text lessons, uploaded PDFs, or let TutorMate's AI generate starter content from your objectives. You can mix formats freely within a single course.
Configure the mastery threshold
In Course Settings → Mastery, set the threshold a student must reach before a concept is marked mastered (default: 80%). You can also set how many consecutive correct responses are required to confirm mastery.
Invite students
Click Share Course and copy the invite link or enter student email addresses directly. Students will be prompted to create a free TutorMate account if they don't have one. Their progress will appear in your Teacher Dashboard in real time.
